Last week I went to the new skatepark in Amsterdam Bijlmer. I heard some good stories about it so I wanted to check it out with my good friends: Virgil Persad, Julius Moorman and Thies van Wesemael. Definitely a good thing is that the skatepark is not hard to find. The skatepark is close to the Bijlmer Arena train station, you can find the actual location here.
After I rode the park I can honestly say that the bowl is seriously awesome! I’m not a real bowl rider but Virgil boosted out some sick lines and he told me it feels smooth. The street course has some weird handrails which are almost too steep to grind. The other street course is pretty good with lots of banks and flat handrails.
One tip if you want to go: Although we didn’t have any problems, the Bijlmer area is one of the most criminal places in Amsterdam, so be careful.
