Today we celebrate our one-year anniversary of the blog! We would like to thank all of you for being so supportive, that really means a lot to us! We got some really cool plans for the second year so to start things off fresh we made some small changes to the site. Here the introduction story about the site updates:
‘’Orange Juice is a blog runned by Roy van Kempen, Tom Lammerse and our group of close friends. The basic idea is to gather all our work and the things that we’re into. It covers BMX, lifestyle, music, fashion, video- and photography. With that we try to support the friends who create and live their passion like we do.’’
This is why we started the blog in the first place but because more and more people are visiting the blog and we received a lot of positive feedback from riders, friends and companies from all over the world we decided to make some small changes to the site. Instead of letting the blog revolve mainly around Tom and Roy we are going to fully focus on being a blog which emphasizes all the aspects of the Orange Juice lifestyle including: Skateboarding, BMX, art, music, videography, photography, fashion etc. You can now find Roy’s and Tom’s work in our ‘about’ section (Roy van Kempen, Tom Lammerse) at the top of the site.
Allow me to explain the small changes plus our new section on the site called: ‘travel’:
We thought that we covered most of the aspects of the Orange Juice lifestyle but came to the discovery that we forgot one of the most important things: travelling. That’s why we decided to add a travel section to the site. When you travel to a new city the best thing you can do is go to a skatepark and hook up with some locals. They can show you all the good places to ride, eat, shop and party. Unfortunately, sometimes it’s hard to find a local; that’s why we came up with the travel section. We will write reviews on 5 different categories: hotels, food, shops, spots and parties. This way you will get all the interesting info from a local point of view.
To start things of we added some articles about Amsterdam with more cities to come. Posts added to the traveling section won’t show up on the homepage or facebook page, since only people visiting one of the cities reviewed benefit. They will only link to our twitter account; this way the website stays clean. As soon as you go to one of the cities we reviewed, you just need to click on the travel section and you will get all the info you need. We left the comments under the reviews open for people to write down their experiences.
We hope that everyone likes the changes and the travel section as much as we do.
Thanks, Orange Juice crew
