Will Holland AKA Quantic (known from the Quantic Soul Orchestra and The Limp Twins) and Alice Russell released their new album called ‘Look around the corner’. They are both signed under the Tru Thoughts label and so decided to work together on an album and I can say I am more than impressed with the result.
The album is full of soul and Latin vibes mixed with a little blues and gospel. Alice’s voice is best comparable to that of Amy Winehouse; sounding so soulful, you would expect she would at least be a little more tanned than she actually is… Quantic also does a great job together with his musicians; bringing a really full dynamic sound filled with strings, tight drums, congas and much more. All together the album holds 14 songs including 4 (mostly) instrumental tracks.
If you like swinging Latin vibes and that soul sound from the 60’s and 70’s you should definitely look into this album as it is full of it!
