If you are in Amsterdam and you want a cheap dinner or lunch than this is one of the good places to go.
Eetcafé ‘t Gasthuys (named after the nearby former oldest Amsterdam hospital) is located at a less known canal, that many tourist will miss. The bar/restaurant is small but cozy (see photo gallery). There is a resident cat called Casper who is about to turn 17 years old. He really likes attention so if you are allergic to cats you might skip this restaurant.
In the evenings you can select the dish of the day for a reasonable price and usually accompanied by frites with mayo and a delicious salad. On the menu you will find: steak, cheeseburgers, spareribs, kebab, fish and more. For the whole menu click HERE.

The service is always really good and the music is fine as well.
This place is also fine to take a girl/boy for a date as well.
