To continue with our new series of monthly rider’s interview, we had the chance to ask Australian legend Dave Dillewaard some questions.

Dave has been around for a a long time now and been killing it on all terrains everywhere he travels. He lives half the year in California, sharing a house with street legend Jason Enns, and the other half, back home in Redcliffe, Australia.

Dillsy is the nicest guy you will ever met and he’s always down for a good sesh at the local park, trail or street spot. When he’s not riding, you can probably find him chilling with a cold beer or playing golf or just having a good time ahah. In other words, Dave Dillewaard is the man.

Where’s are you from, how old are you and what’s your occupation?

Im from Redcliffe, Brisbane Australia, 28 years old and I am a pro stunt bmx rider

When and how did you start riding bmx?

I think i was about 13 when i got my first bike. had a couple of dirt mounds in the park near my house and grew from there.

When you were a child and all those adults would ask you, “And what do you want to be when you grow up?” what did you say?

I wanted to be an accountant at one stage. We had a family friend that was one and was rich so I was like, I wanna do that and be rich too.

What is a normal day for you?

Wake up about 9am, make a big cup of iced coffee then catch up on my internetting. Do that for an hour or 2 then Figure out what i wanna eat for lunch.. Usually Jersey Mikes, a sick sandwich spot near my place. Then figure out where me and Enns are gonna ride and if nothing head to the trails late arvo for a sesh. Cook some Chicken for dinner and have a few beers. Thats my usual day.

As almost everybody knows, you’re from Australia but live in California most of the year, how is it to juggle between both countries? How’s the endless summer life?

Its pretty sick living the endless summer, just traveling all year then getting to spend xmas and a few months into the new year at home with my aus mates and family. Its tough though cause I have an aussie girl so being away from here for long periods of time sucks balls.

You’re one of the best all-around rider, but what is your favorite terrain and why?

Trails for sure. Thats what i grew up riding and love it. Nothing beats just flowing threw a nice set if dirt jumps and flicking the back end out.

How are things going with Demolition and GT Bikes? Any sig products on the way or trips coming soon?

Good on both sides. Im about to be on a 10 day long trail trip for Demolition on the east coast of the us hitting a bunch of sick spots. Then heading to Texas Toast jam with the GT crew for that comp, and hopefully a Hawaii trip after that fingers crossed.

You just come back from a trip to France to ride the famous Peynier trail for the Vans Kill the Line contest, how was the experience?

That contest was awesome. I hadn’t been to France for a long time so it was good to get back there. It was a super laid back chill comp and the jumps were fun too. I also got to go on a South France trail trip too and hit 6 different set of trails. was a good time but i was stoked to get back to the usa for some cold beer. dunno whats up with the french and warm beer haha.

What’s the best trip you’ve ever been?

I went to Hawaii in 2004 to film for the “Drama” dvd and to this day its one of my fav trips.. that place is so awesome with sick parks and beaches reminds me of australia. Thas why im super keen to get back there this year for a GT trip.

Any shootouts?

Shouts to GT Bikes, Famous Stars and Straps, Demolition Parts, S-One Helmets for keeping me dialed. Mad love to my family, friends, and my girl Em for errythin. thanks to WAOJ for being a tasty refreshing drink. follow me on instagram @dillewaard
